Binghamton’s Boscov’s is a reminder of an earlier era, when large department stores served as anchors of downtown shopping centers. While popular among shoppers and attracting tourists from throughout the region, its five-story building needs major upgrades in order to remain sustainable.
Broome County Development Agency is currently the tenant, having signed three one-year lease agreements since 2009. Both parties are interested in reaching a long-term arrangement.
