As is often the case, choosing the correct table size for your patio depends on many different variables – including layout dimensions and existing furniture pieces. When considering materials suitable to your climate and how the table will be utilized (dining, decorative accents or storage).
To select an ideal table size for your space, begin by measuring its length and width before subtracting six feet to allow at least three feet of clearance for chairs to come and go from your patio table. This will enable you to narrow down available patio table sizes and shapes that complement the layout.
Small spaces typically call for smaller tables like bistro tables that pair nicely with one or two lounge chairs for an intimate dining and relaxation experience. Larger spaces, however, require larger tables such as four to six person dining tables that provide space for socializing and entertaining with family and friends. Console tables provide another versatile solution by standing against walls or next to sofas; they’re great for holding decorative accents like cushions, towels and gardening tools while saving space.
