Fortunoff Backyard Stores was launched in February 2009 as an indoor/outdoor furniture/accessories chain in New York City and Westbury, New York, featuring jewelry and fine gifts; four full-line stores are operated as part of this venture; additionally clearance centers were present throughout Northeast America.

Fortunoff held unparalleled market dominance as the premier specialty Outdoor Furniture and Accessories retailer for more than eighty-six years in New York and Tri-State area retail operations, and in February 2010, Fortunoff returned to its roots by opening seven Fortunoff Backyard Store locations near previous Fortunoff locations – featuring higher-end patio furniture, accessories, grills, etc.
Consumers visiting this one-stop shopping destination will have access to over 100 dining and seating sets featuring an assortment of frame and cushion styles – such as all-weather wicker and cast aluminum options – from overstock dining sets, umbrellas and umbrella stands in various sizes, shapes and colors as well as an exclusive Design Studio that allows them to mix-and-match furniture, fabrics and accessories to craft an individual look for themselves.
Fortunoff Backyard Store recently made another push toward regional expansion by signing on for a 9,400-square-foot lease at Somerset Shopping Center in Bridgewater, N.J. Levin Management Corporation (LMC), acting exclusively as leasing and managing agent, secured this commitment which formerly housed Pier 1 Imports at this high-profile, 219,000-square-foot retail property. LMC Senior Leasing Representative Vanessa Fernandez-Kelty represented both parties while Jake Frantzman of Ripco Real Estate represented both parties during negotiations; LMC Senior Leasing Representative Vanessa Fernandez-Kelty represented landlord while Ripco Real Estate represented Fortunoff’s tenant interests during negotiation of this transaction.
